How much smaller will my image get?
The size saving depends on the content of the image. Most photos shrink clearly. Graphics and screenshots give a smaller saving.
What does "already optimized" mean on the output?
If your file would not bring a meaningful saving, the tool does not change it; the output label says "already optimized" and your original file is kept. The file size grows only if you deliberately change the format (for example, PNG instead of JPG).
How many images can I process at once?
You can process up to 20 images in a single request. You can download each of the outputs one by one; if there is more than one image, you can also take them all as a single ZIP file. Each file can be up to 100 MB.
What quality setting should I use?
The tool's default is 82, which is balanced for most uses. For website images, 75-80 is also enough; for print or archiving, choose above 90. Below 60, blur (blocking) can appear, especially in flat-color areas. The long-edge limit is optional; if you only want to compress, leave "No limit" selected.
My phone photo looks sideways
When the "Auto-correct phone orientation" option is on, the capture orientation in the file is applied and the image comes out in the correct orientation. This option is on by default.
What happens to transparent PNGs?
Transparency is preserved in PNG and WebP outputs. If you choose JPG as the output format, transparent areas are placed on a white background; this is a limitation of the JPG format.
Are my files safe?
The images you upload are opened only for the shrinking process; they are not used for any other purpose. All the data processing and storage terms are on the privacy page.
